On Monday, the Pittsburgh Steelers held a tryout for a former USFL player, and he or she could join the Steelers’ roster.

An ESPN reporter claims that five defensive linemen were on hand for practice. In alphabetical order, Doug Costin, Domenique Davis, Freedom Akinmoladun, Dondrea Tillman, and Willie Yarbary comprise the group.

Both Costin and Akinmoladun have played in only a handful of games for the Jaguars and Bengals, respectively, over the past three seasons. All three of these players have never played in a regular season NFL game.

Stephon Tuitt and Daniel Archibong, two of the Steelers’ best defensive tackles, have both opted to retire this offseason. After Tuitt’s retirement, the team added Larry Ogunjobi, and it looks like they’ll be adding another player soon.
