Is there a sports personality that is more adored than Shaquille O’Neal? After starting his NBA career in the 1992-93 season with the Orlando Magic, went on to play for the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, and Boston Celtics before retiring after the 2010-2011 season. Shaq’s salary alone throughout his NBA career was $292 million. He made a few hundred million more thanks to endorsement deals with other companies.

In May 2018, he listed this home for the first time for $28 million. He reduced the asking price to $22 million in January 2019. He reduced the asking price to $19.5 million in September. He has now reduced it once more, to $16.5 million, after making some inside renovations and hiring a new real estate agent to market the house. In January 2021, it looked like Shaq had finally found a buyer, however that contract fell through and the mansion remains on the market as of this writing.

The Mediterranean-style villa is situated on over four acres in Florida’s “most prestigious golf community.” The new real estate agent shifted the emphasis of the property away from the fact that it is Shaq’s home and toward the house itself. As a result, the house underwent a number of aesthetic upgrades. The entire 31,000 square foot interior was re-staged, the pool area and outside kitchen were staged, and the driveway and house were power washed with chemicals.

Shaq is putting the house up for sale since he now spends more time in Atlanta, where he works as an NBA analyst for TNT.
