Two celebrities are moving around Beverly Hills. Tennis superstar Serena Williams has just listed her gated Beverly Hills home for $7.5 million while singer Rihanna has just bought a new home in the 90210 for $13.8 million. A little more than three years after paying $6.68 million for the five-bedroom house, Serena is selling it. The house where Rihanna now resides was constructed in the 1930s for Sidney Sheldon’s daughter, the star of “I Dream of Jeannie.” Mary Sheldon sold the home in 2016; by that time, it needed a significant amount of updating. The house was refurbished after Daniel Starr paid $4.3 million for it. His acquisition was highlighted on the well-known Bravo program “Million Dollar Listing.”

In Beverly Hills’ Summit Estates area, a three-story Spanish-style house owned by Serena Williams on a quarter-acre of land. Celebrity residents living at Summit Estates include Gwen Stefani and Britney Spears. With multiple sitting areas with fireplaces and an open kitchen that looks out into the patio and the backyard beyond, the house is an entertainer’s dream. There is a small pool on the grounds. On the lower level, there’s a gym, lounge, laundry room, and a space for entertaining with a full bar and wine cellar. A bedroom with a fireplace, balcony, and two walk-in closets is located on the upper level. The bathroom has a luxuriously deep soaking tub and two sinks.

Starr made significant renovations to Rihanna’s new home. He paid millions to completely reconstruct the 1930s mansion. 2020 saw the listing of the house for $15 million. Rihanna appears to have made the $13.8 million deal for the house in an off-market transaction. Behind large gates and high hedges sits a 7,600 square foot home. You enter the modern white house with black trim and a black metal roof via a curved staircase. The foyer is entered by the pivoting glass front door and is decorated with a sizable sculpture of a black bull. The open floor plan features white oak hardwood floors and an open-air central courtyard with an alfresco terrace and living room with walls of glass doors that open completely to the courtyard. Two islands in the kitchen have brass fixtures and are covered with marble. The stainless steel appliances are top-notch. A breakfast banquette with tufted black leather seating is also included in the kitchen.

Rihanna is a small-time real estate tycoon who also owns four other expensive homes. She also has a vacation property in her native Barbados and a $6.8 million Hollywood Hills residence. She also has a condo on a high floor in a building on the Wilshire Corridor in Los Angeles. Her primary apartment is a $5.5 million penthouse in Century City’s “The Century” skyscraper, which she shares with Candy Spelling, Nobu Matsuhisa, and Matthew Perry.

When it comes to real estate, Serena is also no pushover. After purchasing it for $6.62 million in 2016, she sold her Bel Air home for $8.1 million in 2019. She also received $2.775 million for the sale of her five-bedroom property in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, earlier this year.
