Patrick Mahomes has had a terrific year. In February, the quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl. Then, in July, he signed a record-setting $450 million contract extension, which could be worth up to $503 million. Mahomes concluded the month by joining the Kansas City Royals’ new ownership group.

How much Mahomes invested has not been made public. However, the franchise was purchased for $1 billion last year, so Mahomes likely had to pay a considerable amount to get involved. He would need to spend around $10 million just to get a 1% ownership position. Mahomes has only made a total of $13 million on the field thus far in his career.

Additionally to owning a stake in the Royals, Mahomes has been spending money. ESPN’s Louis Riddick tweeted a picture of a ride the freshly paid quarterback just purchased.

That is Mahomes’ newest acquisition, a Ferrari 812 Superfast. The vehicle has a V-12 engine with 788 horsepower and costs $338,000. Pat Mahomes, a former major league pitcher, is the father of Mahomes. The elder Mahomes pitched in more than 300 baseball games, primarily as a reliever.

In his early years, the younger Mahomes was also a baseball prospect. He was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 2014 draft, however he never played for them. He played football, therefore it’s safe to assume he made the proper decision. But with this latest move, he’ll still have an opportunity to make some noise on a baseball field.
