A 17,0000-square-foot home that ranks as one of the largest on the island of St. Barthélemy has been put up for sale for an impressive $80 million asking price, according to a story in The Wall Street Journal. The residence, which goes by the stylish name Villa NEO, boasts amenities like a nightclub and not one but two in-home theaters in addition to its sheer size.

The home’s listing agent, Shawn Elliott of Nest Seekers International, told the Wall Street Journal that even though property values and high-profile mansion sales have soared over the past ten years, if Villa NEO sells for even a small portion of its asking price, the sale will be one of the largest in St. Barts real estate history.

According to reports, Scottish entrepreneur Doug Barrowman developed Villa NEO in 2018 as a vacation home. He is currently the property’s owner and seller. However, he claims that he is now only “rarely” staying there and that it is therefore time to move on. Here is an example from how the home’s official listing explains why the next owner will have a really attractive piece of work on his hands:

“Villa Neo is not only one of the biggest villas in St. Barts, but also one of the most magnificent houses in the entire globe. It is perched on a private hillside with stunning views of Saint Jean’s harbor. The jewel in the crown of St. Barts, Villa Neo is a model of excellence, craftsmanship, and elegance. Neo is remarkable and unforgettable in every manner, with an ultra-modern aesthetic that balances coziness and elegance. Huge facing glazings, open areas, stone walls with cascading waterfalls, and floor to ceiling windows enclose unhindered views of the ocean in this building’s design. This Unicorn villa was built with no expense spared, as evidenced by the high-end materials, appliances, and facilities. From the elevator that connects all floors to the cutting-edge technology that operates the 24-camera security system, AV, and smart doors, every last detail was taken into account.”
