The comedians Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears have been sued by a woman and her younger brother who claim that they were groomed as children and forced to shoot sexually explicit sketches.

To protect their anonymity, Jane Doe, now 22, and her brother John Doe, born in 2007, filed the complaint on Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court. Jane, as John’s guardian, is suing both for herself and on her little brother’s behalf.

They claim that Haddish and Spears “stole the youth of a 7-year-old child and a 14-year-old child” by forcing them to take part in sexually graphic skits while they were young.

The Daily Beast was the first to report the lawsuit.

However, Haddish and Spears’ legal representatives have brushed off the complaint as a mere attempt to “shake down” their clients.

Spears’ lawyer, Debra Opri, has stated that their client “isn’t going to fall for any shakedown.”

Haddish’s attorney Andrew Brettler released a statement countering the plaintiff’s, saying the woman had “been trying to raise these baseless accusations against Ms. Haddish for numerous years.”

Brettler referred to the accusations as “meritless” and claimed Haddish had proven she “would not be shook down.”

In this case, (the accuser’s) mother has her grown daughter acting as her attorney. The attorney warned his clients that they would both suffer for their decision to pursue the frivolous lawsuit.

They “are not shocked that Mr. Brettler would seek to distract the attention away from the genuine claims brought by my brother and me,” Jane said of her and her brother. “Our mother is not a party to this action.”

The siblings’ mother allegedly had a strong relationship with Haddish, so the siblings knew her and Spears as kids.

The lawsuit claims that in 2013, Haddish spoke as a guest speaker at a summer camp that 14-year-old Jane attended. Haddish apparently assured Jane that she had the “ideal role” for her during their meeting.

As stated in the lawsuit, “only Spears and Haddish knew the narrative for the skit,” meaning that neither Jane nor her mother had any idea what would be involved in the shoot.

However, the lawsuit claimed that Haddish’s final role in the act was to instruct Jane in the art of fellatio imitation.

According to the lawsuit, the incident occurred while a film was shown in the studio of an elderly male and college-aged woman squabbling over a sub sandwich before beginning to eat it “simultaneously from either end.”

According to the complaint, while eating the sandwich, the pair “appeared to moan and make sexual noises in a manner that imitated the act of fellatio.”
