I want to bet on USC, NC State football in 2022

I am excited to back two teams in the Big 12 football betting, so I will have a lot of fun.

The Mountain State

OV 5.5 (-125) vs. UN (+105): Regular season wins

This past season, if you picked the Mountaineers, you would have won some money. In all of college football, it was one of the most profitable bets you could make. Last two seasons, West Virginia was 3-7 against the spread when playing away from home. While throwing for 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions while playing at home, quarterback Jarret Doege had 10 touchdowns and nine interceptions while playing away. In away games, he was sacked 33 times, while at home, he was sacked 22 times. It was simple money. Doege is relocating to Western Kentucky, which means that cash cow may be gone for good.

Georgia’s JT Daniels, who has thrown for 4,840 yards and 32 touchdowns in his career, enters the fray. Although he faces competition, Daniels is the most likely candidate to take his place behind the center.

In addition to improving quarterback play, West Virginia returns all five starters on its offensive line. Its top-50 defense also has a load of returning production and should improve in total yards allowed, but if the Mountaineers could also focus a bit more on their pass rush (68th in the nation for sacks) then this team could be a play instead of a fade when not at home.

At a minimum, we’re intrigued by West Virginia’s potential underdog value in road games at Texas, Texas Tech, and Iowa State. These are early thoughts as we examine the over on both teams.
