AUSTIN, TX – Lows early on Monday morning will be mostly clear and extremely warm.

Early Monday will see a lot of sun, and temperatures will rise swiftly. By the afternoon, temperatures could reach records. It will be quite hot because we predict a high of 108, breaking the previous record high for July of 107. 1pm to 8pm: Excessive Heat Warning.

Tuesday is projected to break previous records before a brief drop in temperature mid- to late-week. For the remainder of the week, highs will be close to 100 with a 10–20 percent chance of showers.

The NHC is currently identifying a region in the northern Gulf in the Tropics for a 30% risk of development over the next 5 days. No immediate threat to Texas, but something to keep an eye on. Before the center of this disturbance travels into the Gulf, heavy rain from it is anticipated over the Louisiana to Florida Panhandle region over the next few days.
