Gene Simmons Lists His Longtime Benedict Canyon Mansion For $22 Million

Unfortunately, none of Gene Simmons’ huge collection of KISS memorabilia is for sale along with the property, which is bad news for any KISS Army veterans who might be interested in buying the Simmons estate.

KISS frontman Gene Simmons has lived in the same Benedict Canyon mansion with his wife Shannon Tweed Simmons for almost forty years. They bought the house back in 1984, not long after getting married, but according to The Wall Street Journal, they have now marketed it for $22 million.

Simmons spent just $1.35 million for the property when he bought it, but he later oversaw a significant renovation that transformed the home into its current opulent design. The result is a 16,000-square-foot European style abode with 30-foot-high windows, elegant stone staircases, and an elaborate garden, and amenities like a pool room, wine cellar, and library.

It’s not exactly the kind of house you would imagine Simmons’s “The Demon” stage persona living in, but it’s also loaded with mementos from the last nearly 50 years of KISS history, with three rooms devoted to KISS merchandise. Gene says this with his trademark wit:

“We did everything from condoms to caskets… We’ll arrange for you to arrive and depart.”
