ElectroNic didn’t hear Twistzz dropping from silo in crucial round of IEM Cologne grand final: ‘There was a lot of noise’

Missing the sound cue not only cost NAVI the round but also left them in a rough spot for the last round of Nuke.

Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken’s heart-breaking play in round 29 of the IEM Cologne grand final decided the thrilling battle between Natus Vincere and FaZe Clan. Denis “electroNic” Sharipov, the captain of NAVI, has been the subject of much debate after the match.

Twistzz dropped from Silo and not only caught electroNic off guard but also moved quickly to kill Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev on A main in the best-of-five grand final on Nuke. Because of FaZe’s two kills, the international team was able to take control of A site and earn a point, virtually destroying NAVI’s economy in the 30th round.

Russian YouTuber Evgeniy Rise was unable to hear Twistzz’s drop because of the LANXESS Arena’s ambient noise, according to ElectroNic, who spoke with him. According to Escore News, ElectroNic told Rise, “There was a lot of noise, I didn’t hear that sound in my headphones at all.”

Hvard “rain” Nygaard was also throwing flashbangs at the same time as Twistzz was preparing to drop from Silo, which could have contributed to electroNic’s failure to hear the sound cue.

As a result of NAVI’s lack of utility and rifles in round 30, FaZe cruised to victory in Nuke and was crowned champions of IEM Cologne 2022, one of the year’s most significant CS:GO events.
