Chick-fil-A might open a restaurant in your area soon. The well-known fast food franchise, which currently has over 2,600 locations across North America, is planning to expand with a number of forthcoming store openings.

The chain’s first freestanding restaurant on the East Coast will be constructed in New York City. The 6,000 square foot space at 1573 Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn’s Midwood neighborhood, close to Brooklyn College, will reportedly have plenty of indoor seating.

The three-story office building that is currently on the site will be demolished to make way for the restaurant, the opening date for which has not yet been determined.

More fast food industry news can be found at. This beloved New York City lunch chain just shut down all 16 of its locations with no advance notice.

Chick-fil-A is planning to expand to the Midwest with four new restaurants in Michigan, three of which will open this fall in the Metro Detroit area (Southfield, Monroe, and Livonia). The Detroit area food banks will benefit from a $75,000 donation to Feeding America on behalf of the company, which has pledged to donate $25,000 per restaurant to the organization.

According to Michigan Live, a stand-alone Chick-fil-A will open at 3140 Miller Road in Flint Township, Michigan, which is located northwest of Detroit, sometime in 2019.

The opening of a new location in Georgia Tech’s updated Student Center means the Atlanta-based chain can expand its reach into southern Georgia. Launching as of today, the spot will initially be open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for takeout and mobile lunch orders. Then, beginning on August 15th, shoppers can place orders Monday through Saturday between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.
