On the Hawaiian island of Kauai, Anthony Kiedis paid $2.6 million back in April 2005 for an undeveloped parcel of land. On the property, the lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers planned to erect a house. And although it wasn’t an easy task, he eventually finished building a 3,000 square foot opulent mansion.

At a public hearing, locals voiced the following grievances:

Not sure why he’s looking to sell. He might be merely attempting to lower his yearly property tax expense. After all, even without this land, Anthony already has real estate valued at over $40 million. He owns residences in Los Angeles, Michigan, Las Vegas, and a number of other cities.

His Malibu home, which is just few doors down from band mate Flea and is two parcels over more than two acres, is worth at least $20 million. The estimated value of his Hollywood Hills mansion is close to $10 million.

And as far as I’m aware, none of those residences were constructed over old graveyards!
